Advocacy
and Awareness Creation
|
|
The programme activity intends to give CSR a fixed
identity by providing information and dispelling
misconceptions. The aim is to provide information on
the importance and benefits of companies embracing
CSR especially in relation to the fight against
poverty. A secondary aim is to establish and ensure
a continuous dialogue on CSR.

The Research, information collection and
dissemination
|
|
The programme activity intends to strengthen the
knowledge base by creating actual facts and
information on CSR in
East Africa
. Currently, there is limited research information
on CSR in
East Africa
. Research is urgently needed to provide a sound
basis for the CSR programme. Also, there is a need
to determine the fundamental business case for CSR
in the region, so as to influence business behaviour
and contribution to society.

Benchmarking
|
|
The programme activity intends to develop and encourage
specific CSR standards in
East Africa
. The
aim is to assist companies develop good CSR
programmes using a specific benchmark of excellence.

Training and Development
|
|
The programme activity intends to build the necessary
skills and expertise within the Corporate and
Non-Profit sector to enhance CSR initiatives. The
aim is to provide necessary information and
knowledge to practitioners, expand the limited human
resource base and to provide Non-Profits with actual
skills for engaging companies on CSR issues.
Training is also intended as a means of influencing
management decision making so that it is more
sensitive to CSR issues.
