The Project, referred to as Lake Victoria Livelihood Programme (LVLP) is domiciled within the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme. The project aims at strengthening the economic level of the community groups living around the Lake Victoria region.
The project is being implemented in five sites around the Lake; Mfangano Island, Osiri and Sio Port in Kenya, Ukerewe Island in Tanzania and Ssese Island in Uganda. Ufadhili’s economic empowerment programme aims at giving the communities business trainings, technical support and management training. The Programme works closely with fisherforks, youth groups and People Living with Hiv/Aids and has conducted trainings in the fields of craft and horticulture. These groups have been trained in horticulture, hybrid tomato farming, poultry farming and making crafts from hyacinth and other recycled items.  Read more
